“My inspiration comes from a combination of European and African backgrounds. My designs have shifted away from the emphasis of wealth and status that traditional jewellery offers, to an exploration of the simplicity of forms. In my design work, this is embodied aesthetically through the repetition of simple forms, producing complex designs.”


Artist Bio
Tamara Dixon grew up in Zimbabwe, where she began her jewellery career in retail in 1995 while studying Gemology. She was actively involved in remodelling antique jewellery which gave her a love for design. Upon moving to Australia in 2004, Tamara focused on manufacturing, specialising in a life-long love of handmade chain. In 2009 she completed an Advanced Diploma of Jewellery Design and Production, TAFE, WA. Tamara is based in Perth, where she makes her intricate chains entirely by hand.
