"As a youngster I remember sitting in my smock at Kindergarten making my first piece of jewellery, a necklace made from pasta. I constantly draw upon my childhood for inspiration, trying to re create things that are simple, naive and identifiable. My pasta series for Pieces of Eight was a very exciting process. I made my own pasta from wax, by placing lengths of half round wax strips onto a sheet of flat wax, creating my own rigatoni. This was then cast in sterling silver and 18ct gold and the results were just as I had hoped. Perfect pasta!
My family is heavily into food as my dad is a wonderful cook and has been in restaurants since as long as ... I can remember. Therefore to include the recipes and ingredients of different pasta dishes seemed a super idea. Pasta of the day is playful, and inviting - you can almost taste it!!!"
