"This collection of objects manufactured mainly in the round, draws reference from industry and heavy machinery, where proportion and function, are of great importance. A requirement not lost within this light industry of jewellery, where a finger must still be held, and wrist still hung.
A long-term interest of mine is ergonomics, and the study of human proportion. From the smallest toe ring to the biggest backhoe, humans are everywhere and in everything. Also of continuing interest are the similarities between different fields, the crossover of shapes and design, which occur through minor change such as scale or application.
It is through these pre-existing similarities that I further hope to blur the lines of traditional appreciation and inherent value.
