" I am a ceramicist/artist/designer and my work is inspired by obsessions with popular culture, iconography and the Australian identity. I am passionate about re-contextualising ceramics for a contemporary audience."
Artist Bio
Upon graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Hons, Ceramics), 2002, Katie visited Germany to exhibit her giant lolly sculptures. She has since featured in the Danish version of New Idea with her sculpture of Princess Mary and held a solo exhibition, Domestic Flights, which was opened by professional bird-caller 'Dawne Chorus'. Her recent exhibition, Veni Vidi Vici, was at C3 gallery and questioned ideas of patriotism and environmentalism. She has recently returned from a residency in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
