Katie spent most of her ceramics degree making giant ceramic lollies and giving talks on subjects such as pop art legends Andy Warhol, and Claes Oldenberg, and her (equally legendary) soft toy bunny rabbit, Harvey.
Since leaving university in 2002, she has shown at galleries including Heide - Museum of Modern Art, Craft Victoria, Linden and Seventh, in Melbourne, as well as The Jam Factory in Adelaide, Blacklab Gallery in Brisbane, the Exhibition Building, Neue Messe, in Munich.
She recently received a grant from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust to undertake an artist-in-residency for two months in Denmark. She created a semi-traditional ceramic portrait bust of "Our Mary", from an awful lot of magazine images, and featured in the Danish version of New Idea, Billed Bladet with her sculpture.
She also sings and plays keyboards in a twee pop cardigan-wearing band, "The Raylenes", who are presently recording a follow-up to their assertive debut EP "Um...yeah...ok".
