"He who has once begun to open the fan of memory never comes to the end of its segments.¹"

"Both the Richmond series and my polypropylene work represent my explorations of personal themes of family, human relationships and trying to capture that sense of "home" that we all desire. Within the Richmond series I have attempted to trap the small details of one place where I have lived, the faults, or the time weary symbols, that make Richmond distinctive. The laneways, the broken fences, the decrepit Burber print couch on the front porch, the constant cycle of demolition and construction.

My polypropylene series stems from the same journey; however this work acknowledges the sense of place gained through our relationships and through the shared history of family. Here I have used the colours and patterns found in one of my fathers old dressing gowns as a medium through which to acknowledge and explore the circumstances and repercussions of my family's break up.

All of my work seeks to recognize the preciousness and beauty that arises from adversity."
