/ MICHAELA PEGUM: FRESH! AWARD RECIPIENT NOW SHOWING IN OUR GALLERY WINDOWS /

For the rest of June, we're delighted to present the works of emerging Melbourne artist Michaela Pegum in our gallery windows.

Honoured with the Pieces of Eight award as part of Craft's FRESH! Graduate Showcase earlier this year, Michaela is showing her debut collection of contemporary jewellery, entitled Meshes.

The powerful and ephemeral nature of the intimate relationships humans have with the natural world around them is a strong theme in Michaela’s work and one that has passed through from her background in dance to her current object making practice. She is particularly interested in the generation of new and unique materials as a form of expression, and in the resonance that is generated between art object and beholder.

Michaela commenced her Masters of Fine Art by Research at RMIT this year, and will continue to explore her interest in embodied knowledge through her intuitive approach to materials and form. We can't wait to see the outcome.

Meshes is showing until July 1.
