I am inspired by the small decorative delicacies in life... the small outline of a pressed flower, the fine textures of a little bug or the silhouette of a tree at sunset. Where would we be without visions of beautiful things?
Nina Ellis first completed a diploma in Product Design, NMIT TAFE, 2000. She then graduated from Bachelor of Fine Arts (Gold and Silversmithing - with distinction) at RMIT University, 2003. Nina has established collections in galleries throughout Australia and in New Zealand and has participated in numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including Schmuck in Munich. She was awarded the Emerging Artist Initiative Mentorship Grant from Craft Victoria, 2005. Her first solo exhibition, Welcome to Gemrock, was held at Pieces of Eight Gallery in 2006. Nina is one of the founding members of the Pieces of Eight workshop.
