Skarfe x Jess Johnson (Flesh Screensaver Scarf)
Skarfe, have just released their third, much anticipated artist collaboration, with acclaimed artist Jess Johnson. Born in Tauranga, New Zealand, Johnson now resides in New York. Johnson is known for installation, video work as well as works on paper: densely imagined explorations of dystopic worlds, reflecting her interest in science fiction, parallel universes, outsider art and comic books. Her patterned, speculative graphics with their recurring human figuration – are perfect for translation on to foldable, wearable fabrics.
Three of Johnson's works, 'Gilgamesh', 'Flesh Screensaver', and 'Wallpaper', have been digitally printed then hand-finished in a limited edition range of oversized silk scarves. 'Flesh Screensaver' shows ritualised, tessellated human forms on a delicate pale and a rich dark background respectively.
