Each gemstone has qualities particular to its class that are likable. The success of my design comes from the flattery of contrasting these qualities. There is something celebratory about being playful with very serious things.
Amy Zubick is a Canadian based artist. She completed a Bachelor of Arts, Specialization in Visual Arts at the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and a Bachelor of Fine Art, Specialization in Metals and Jewellery at Monash University in 2010. She has pursued cutting and carving of Australian opal and has been mentored by masters in the industry. She was awarded second place in the National Contemporary Jewellery Award in 2012 and subsequently stayed as the Artist in Residence at Sturt (Australian Contemporary Craft and Design) in 2013.
