I love to create oversized sculptural earrings, translating memories into symbolic and abstracted graphic motifs. Combining handcrafted and industrial fabrication processes I create a distinct visual language through developing components that are able to be remixed and repeated throughout my work. The materials I work with draw fascination from industrial surface finishes and anything that brings colour to my work.
Bianca Mavrick is an Australian contemporary jewellery designer based in Queensland. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art, majoring in Jewellery and Small Objects from Queensland College of Art after first studying Industrial Design. Her production ranges are stocked internationally with US fashion retailer Anthropologie, and local gallery and design boutiques such as the NGV Design Store and Craft Victoria.
Bianca's work is interested in how memories create a narrative expressed through jewellery, and examines ways to preserve culture and memory particularly once a place or people no longer exist.
