I am inspired by simple beauty and details in the natural environment. Sometimes developing jewellery comes from the process of simply playing with a chosen material, what can evolve is an understanding of the material and a design with a certain sense of freedom.
Cheryl Maloney studied Handcrafted Footwear, Sydney Institute of Technology, 1996. She completed a jewellery mentorship with Taka Morino from 1995-1997. Cheryl has participated in numerous exhibitions at Gallery onefivesix in Sydney and also exhibited at the Atrium Gallery in the UK, Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, Pieces of Eight Gallery in Melbourne and Metalab in Sydney. She is currently teaching jewellery design at Workshop Arts Centre Sydney.
