David Neale

Immediacy — that's what I love when I make. However, that sort of rawness is not easy to control.
When a piece is successful; when it seems to be more than what I've put into it — this is the most
enjoyable part of the whole pursuit.
David Neale lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. He made his first item of jewellery at the age of fifteen for a girl he liked and has been making jewellery ever since. His style delights in the expressive potential of metal work and has been shaped by his rural upbringing and love of ethnography. David's work can be found in several public collections and is also worn by many of Australia's most respected jewellers.
David studied Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University. He has exhibited internationally, and his jewellery is represented in several public collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria. He continues to operate an independent studio in Melbourne, Australia.
