My work is informed by both the natural world and the history of art. I have a particular interest in how we imbue an object with meaning and the consequent relationship the object has with the body it adorns.
Katherine Bowman's first degree was a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Fine Art History from the University of Melbourne. She then completed a degree with Honours in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT in 2001. In 2002, Katherine received an Australian Postgraduate Award and completed a Master of Arts through RMIT.
Katherine was a founding member of Northcity4, a not for profit studio and school in Brunswick, Victoria. She has taught in the Fine Art department at RMIT since 2006.
