Melanie Katsalidis: Alpha60 Profile
Gallery Director Melanie Katsalidis was recently featured in Alpha60's creative Profile series, where she reflects on 18 years of Pieces of Eight, and explains her rituals for rest and recuperation.
Melanie befriended siblings Georgie and Alex Cleary in 2014, as they bonded over a shared love of Australian opals, and their dismay at how often they are (poorly) used in souvenir jewellery.
This mutual appreciation led to a collaborative exhibition held at Pieces of Eight titled 'Upala' in 2014.
