We are immensely proud and profoundly honoured to announce that Pieces of Eight and our Director, Melanie Katsalidis, were recently recognised with an Achievement Award for 10+ years in business at the prestigious Lord Mayor's Small Business Awards. Gathered on the historic portico of Melbourne Town Hall with other brilliant nominees, this moment truly highlighted the spirit and dedication of Melbourne’s creative enterprises.

This award celebrates not just our longevity, but the small part we play in adding colour, warmth, and soul to our vibrant city. As the City of Melbourne notes, small businesses are the heartbeat of its economic prosperity, liveability, and culture. For over a decade, Melanie’s distinct vision has guided Pieces of Eight to become a celebrated platform for exceptional contemporary jewellery and art, fostering a community that values unique craftsmanship and artistic integrity. We are committed to continuing this journey, enriching Melbourne’s cultural landscape for many years to come.

Melanie happily accepted this award with our General Manager Laura di Florio. This recognition reaffirms our belief in the power of small business to shape a city’s identity. The Lord Mayor emphasised that the creativity, hard work, and smarts of Melbourne’s 14,000 small businesses are what make it a distinct, unique, and world-famous destination. For Melanie Katsalidis, this award is a testament to the perseverance, passion, and collaborative spirit that has defined Pieces of Eight since its inception.
