I think of my work as organic; inspired by nature and yet layered with many overlapping narratives and influences. I love when a piece evolves through its construction; the way the process of realising a sketch can change my ideas in unexpected ways. Technique, construction, and wearability is very important to me, I want to make pieces that will delight and please the wearer.

Julia Storey completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing, RMIT in 2006. She has since established a boutique jewellery studio and has exhibited throughout Australia and internationally. Her practice is influenced by natural, organic textures, executed with traditional techniques. She finds particular inspiration in the textures of beaches, oceans, and aquatic life.
