"My gem collection has recently been transformed into a series of twenty new precious rings inspired by my favourite film heroines and villainesses. These new pieces reflect the persona of each film character that inspired them, with carefully selected gemstones and sculptural settings. Many of my pieces look simultaneously ancient and futuristic as they echo the aesthetic of the films they reference. This series experiments with new sculptural forms through the use of unusually shaped gemstones and curious settings to house them."

Tessa Blazey has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and is the recipient of two grants from the Australia Council for the Arts. Blazey has won awards in 1999 & 2008 and has work in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Australia.
