Description

The idea for Pia Murphy's Wintering Tree "was to create a contrast to the colourful, joyous pearls. It speaks to the idea of dormancy as profound time for gathering thoughts and ideas. Symbolic of a figure, the pearls are held in the branches of the tree-like thoughts or dreams."

This sculpture is the display for Pia Murphy's 'A Beautiful and Strange Otherness' earrings, available separately.

This piece is part of our Tidal Wave exhibition and must remain in the gallery until August 31, 2026.

Always a wonderful experience working with the fabulous team at Pieces of Eight! First time working with them on a custom piece, by artist Belinda Esperson. A family member loved the style a brooch though found it a little large so she created a smaller version that was just perfect. Leonie
